"Father Campbell and Father Reese bring with them a rich tradition,
a pastoral heritage, a heart for the people that they serve but also a vision;
a vision to create a spirituality in the lives of many as apostles of Jesus Christ
who is both priest and victim." - Archbishop Jerome Listecki
Father Campbell and Father Reese renewed promises as Apostles of Jesus Christ, Priest and Victim before Bishop Donald Hying and members of both of their parishes at the outdoor altar of the Mt. Carmel Festival, July 15th 2012. After Fr. Reese's death their priestly society ended.
Fr. Benjamin Reese was diagnosed with ALS in 2013. He remained in residence at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel until February of 2015, when his medical condition required more sustained care. He then was in residence at the Mother of Good Counsel Home in St. Louis, Missouri run by the Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George, until his death on Sept. 18, 2015. May he rest in peace.
